Juicy Gems is a two player mobile game aimed at introducing players to agriculture. Each player needs to move a tractor through a grid, collecting produce tokens from the farm by landing on them. This is done through the use of tangible tokens which allows for the commands Move Forward, Move Backward, Turn Left and Turn Right. Once the set of tokens are packed out, a photo is taken. Through image recognition, the commands then become executable in the app, moving the tractor through the grid. When the tractor lands on a produce token, it is collected from the grid, and the player can earn points by answering a multiple choice question related to agriculture. These questions serve the purpose of educating players.
Juicy Gems can also be played as a one player game where the player plays against a “virtual opponent” which makes decisions based on artificial intelligence algorithms.
